About Derek
Derek Lapsley is a Central California based commercial photographer with more than nine years of professional experience. A natural people person, he communicates with his clients throughout the shoot and strives to create a working environment that’s easygoing and natural. He seeks first to understand his subject, then execute based on that understanding.
Specializing in contemporary portraiture, Derek provides and puts a fresh look on corporate and headshot photography. Sharply driven to create work that is new and dynamic, he has earned a reputation among his peers for pushing boundaries and consistently taking his art to the next level.
Can I wear multiple outfits?
Each session is limited to 1 outfit. If you book multiple sessions you can wear a different outfit per session.
What backdrop options are there?
You can select between a dark grey or white background. If you book multiple sessions you can do one of each.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel 48hrs prior to your scheduled session for a refund minus 10% processing fee. Contact me using the form below.
Are the photos edited?
All photos go through a basic editing process. Retouching is available and includes removal of facial glare, stray hairs, skin blemishes, wrinkle reduction, and teeth whitening. Please allow up to 5 days for delivery.
What is a Photo Clipping?
Simply put, remove the background from your photo which allows you to place your photo on any background you want. This option is great for your marketing or advertorial promotion.
When will I receive my photos?
You will receive a private gallery link via email within 10 days of your session.
How many photos do I get to choose from?
You’ll receive approximately 15-30 photos for review via your online gallery. A coupon code will be provided for you to immediately download your favorite!
Can I purchase additional photos?
Yes! You may purchase additional photos (retouched and non-retouched) directly from your online gallery. Non-retouched photos are downloadable immediately upon purchase. Please allow up to 5 days for delivery of retouched photos.
How long is each session?
Each session lasts approximately 15 minutes. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early and photo ready.
Can I book more than one session?
Of course! In-between sessions you may change outfits and select another backdrop color.
